Eagle Mountain planners have supported
the use of renewable energy sources since founding the city and are currently researching geothermal, solar and wind energy alternatives.

Utah currently has several geothermal plants, and is considered a ‘hotbed’ of geothermal potential. The city is pursuing options with Brigham Young University and the University of Utah, both institutions are actively involved in geothermal projects.

We have studied the valley's potential for wind power generation and are encouraged by the growing acceptance of this technology. A neighboring valley recently developed and sold their wind energy project to Edison Mission Energy.

Eagle Mountain's open terrain provides an ideal setting for solar thermal power generation. We are actively researching options and incentives to implement this powerful source of energy while providing significant environmental benefits.
