The actual route of the legendary Pony Express passes right through Eagle Mountain. This rugged journey crossed North America and ran from St. Joseph, Missouri, to Sacramento, California.

Messages that were once were carried across the country on horseback in as little as 10 days now travel at fiber optic speed thanks to the Williams Telecommunications fiber optic line which also runs through Eagle Mountain.

The Pony Express Society continues to honor the memory of the original pony express riders through annual Pony Express riders carrying mail the full distance of the original route.

Every June crowds gather to watch the Pony Express riders stop in Eagle Mountain, swap the saddle bags and continue the journey to Sacramento.
