Eagle Mountain Founder Honored
John Walden, founder of Eagle Mountain, was honored in a dedication ceremony held at the town's City Hall building.

Mayor Heather Jackson, along with members of the City Council, staff and town residents were in attendance for the ceremony where plans to commission a bronze bust of Mr. Walden were announced.

Walden was presented with a scroll certificate recognizing his role as Founder of one of Utah's fastest growing areas. The certificate, signed by the Mayor, was presented to John and his wife Robyn at the surprise gathering. It reads as follows:

"In honor and recognition of your place in city history, the people of Eagle Mountain wish to recognize you, John Walden, as Founder of Eagle Mountain City.

"We would like to offer our heartfelt thanks for having having the courage to 'Dream Big' and for the dedication and perseverance to follow that dream.

"Jonathan Swift said 'Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others. John, your vision for this city is becoming a reality, and your vision is shared by all of us as we work to realize our own dreams here in Eagle Mountain.

"As Mayor and City Council members, we authorize the placement of a bronze bust of "The Founder of Eagle Mountain" in the foyer of City Hall and look forward to a recognition ceremony in your honor.

"Thank you for your vision of what can be achieved when people join together to create a better quality of life and a wonderful place to live it."
